Dear Friends, tomorrow is the day!

Based on State and Federal guidance, an internal City task force, external advisory groups, and robust data analysis, New Orleans can finally begin reopening — but we have to be careful to do it slowly and as safely as possible.

For all the info on Phase One of safely reopening New Orleans, please click here.

Yesterday, Mayor Cantrell appeared on CNN's The Situation Room to talk about why now is the time to begin reopening — we've seen a steady decline of cases over the last month, we've been expanding and sustaining our testing capacity, and our hospitals are better equipped to handle the current influx of cases.

But let us be clear — by no means is this pandemic over. Protecting public health and safety will continue to drive the City of New Orleans’ response to COVID-19. With sustained low case numbers, ramped up testing, and other key milestones, we can gradually reopen and get our City back on track. The more you follow these guidelines — the faster we can return to a sense of normalcy.

New Orleans, together with your continued adherence to our Mayor's guidelines, and her commitment to keeping all our residents healthy and safe — we can do this. Will you make a contribution now to keep LaToya's team strong and completely ready to carry out these critical reopening plans?
