Team — yesterday, Mikie announced her campaign for Governor of New Jersey.

That’s no easy feat, but if there’s one thing we know about Mikie, it’s that she has serious guts.

It took guts for Mikie to chase her dream and graduate from the Naval Academy in one of the first-ever classes of women eligible to serve in combat roles.

It took guts to be a leader — flying an H-3 Sea King helicopter in missions throughout Europe and the Middle East.

When the moment demanded leaders like Mikie, it took guts for her to run for Congress in NJ-11 — a seat Democrat hadn’t won in decades.

She weathered all the attacks and outside spending that came her way, and won. Then she won again, three times in a row — and she delivered real results for New Jersey families.

Now, she’s on a new mission to get stuff done for New Jersey as governor. And that job will take a lot of guts, too.
