How Arizona protected voter power

Collage of happy volunteers

Hi John,

We talk a lot about the power of grassroots organizing around here, and how we, the people, can come together to create lasting change. Arizona is a perfect example of how this theory works in practice. Thanks to the work of Protect AZ Voices, Better Ballot AZ and Voter Choice AZ, led by Kazz Fernandes, Arizona voters were able to protect their rights at the ballot box.

It wasn't easy; there were not one, not two, but FOUR ballot initiatives designed to limit voter power up for a vote. And there were wealthy and powerful forces pushing those ballot initiatives.

But our partners knew that with grassroots organizing and targeted campaigns, we could get the message across. Things like advocating at community meetings, phone calls, knocking on doors and more all meant that Arizona voters heard from friends and neighbors about the impact of these initiatives, without spending big money on TV ads.

Learn How Arizona Protected Voter Power

This organizing was effective: all four initiatives were defeated and voter power was protected. We are so proud to have been supporters in this effort.

And this isn't the end of the road! As we look to 2025 and beyond, one thing we can be sure of is there will be forces trying to limit your voice and your vote. But together, we will fight to fix our broken political system.

Thanks for being a part of the movement,
