It’s official — the House Oversight Committee will mark up my bill, the Dismantle DEI Act, tomorrow, Wednesday November 20th, at 10:30am ET.

This bill will end government DEI programs by abolishing DEI offices, rescinding divisive regulations, and restoring a merit-based system in the United States government. It’s time to end this wasteful and discriminatory misuse of taxpayer dollars.

Senator Cruz, State Rep. Gerdes, and I are demanding answers from ICE after an illegal migrant, previously deported five times, tragically claimed the life of a Texas man in Bastrop County. Despite past deportations, the suspect re-entered the U.S. under the Biden-Harris Administration's current policies. Texans—and all Americans—deserve a secure border and safe communities, and we’ll keep pressing for accountability and effective policy. State Rep. Gerdes also announced plans for “Grayson’s Law” to tackle illegal immigrant crime at the state level.

Great news for Gonzales County and our district! The Department of Transportation has awarded $4.6 million to the Texas Triangle Rail Revitalization Project. This funding will upgrade the Texas Gonzales Northern Railway (TXGN) by replacing seven aging timber bridges that are vulnerable to wildfires and limited in load capacity. These upgrades will allow TXGN to handle modern railcars, boosting efficiency and safety for the critical rail line connecting Harwood and Gonzales.

This project will strengthen our local economy by supporting key industries like agriculture, lumber, and energy, while also helping reduce highway traffic. TXGN’s 30% matching funds will maximize the federal investment, creating long-term benefits for Gonzales County and the surrounding area.
