Project description: The Proposed Project is a residential development in Eagan, Minnesota involving the redevelopment of the former Metcalf Middle School property. The development will be built on approximately 34.5 acres and consist of 468 units of mixed multi-family housing. The proposed Project includes 46 twin homes, 96 townhomes, an apartment building with up to 260-units, and a senior living cooperative with up to 66-units. The project includes active park land, private open space, stormwater infrastructure, sidewalks and trail connections to Diffley Road. Project description: The Minnesota Department of Veteran Affairs (MDVA) Hastings campus upgrade involves the construction of a new facility that will house 145 resident rooms and related support spaces followed by the demolition of five buildings (23, 24, 25 and cottages 1 & 2). Feasibility for the demolition of building 34 is also being considered. The upgrade is planned to involve the decommissioning of the water tower to be replaced with City hookup and the renovation of building 30 (power plant). Geothermal and solar energy systems may be integrated into the design, contingent on funding. Replacement landscaping will include a native prairie.

ITC Midwest (TL-24-232) Public Information and Environmental Assessment Scoping Meetings
Notice description: PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (Commission) and Minnesota Department of Commerce will hold public information and environmental assessment scoping meetings on ITC Midwest's (Applicant) application for a route permit for the construction of a new switching station Southwest of the City of Lakefield and an approximately 8.5 mile long 161 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from the new Rost substation to the new Forks switching station in Jackson County, MN. The purpose of the meeting is to: (1) provide information to the public about the proposed project and the state's high-voltage transmission line route permitting processes; and (2) provide members of the public an opportunity to participate in developing the scope of the environmental assessment. This includes commenting on issues or concerns related to the proposed project and proposing alternatives for consideration.

Doors will open one hour prior to each meeting to provide attendees an opportunity to review the application, maps, and other materials for the proposed project and ask questions of state staff and the applicant. During this time, comments made by attendees will become a part of the record for Commission consideration only if the attendee submits the comment in writing. Forms will be available for this purpose. State staff and the applicant will both make presentations during the meeting. State staff will explain the permitting and environmental review processes, and the applicant will provide an overview of the proposed project. Following the presentations, attendees will have the opportunity to offer oral and written comments for the record. The meetings will end when all attendees have had the opportunity to comment and all other business has been concluded, or the scheduled end time of the meeting, whichever occurs first. The information presented will be the same at all in-person and online meetings. Minnesota Public Utilities Commission - Power Plant Siting Act Annual Hearing 2024
Notice description: Under Minnesota Statute § 216E.07, the Commission is required to hold an annual public hearing to afford interested persons an opportunity to be heard regarding any matters relating to the siting of large electric generating power plants and the routing of high-voltage transmission lines. The hearing will also cover and discuss the siting and routing of wind and pipeline projects under Minn. Stat. §§ 216F and 216G, respectively. Information regarding attendance or participation can be found on the Notice which is located at www.edockets.state.mn.us - using docket number 24-18 (24 for year, 18 for number). The Honorable Christa Moseng, Administrative Law Judge with the Office of Administrative Hearings, will preside over the hearing and will provide the Commission with a written summary of the hearing and public comments received. These reports were received via the Minnesota Duty Officer prior to the submission deadline for this edition of the EQB Monitor. They represent the raw data/information provided by callers.
