John,
Now that Donald Trump is President-Elect, it’s more important than ever that we work to protect immigrants in our communities and work to reform our immigration system.
Rep. Greg Casar (D-TX-35) has called on Congress to address the rampant hate and violence in our migration systems and policies. He’s introduced the Migration Stability Resolution, a critical first step in fixing our broken system. The resolution outlines meaningful policy changes that would allow us to welcome immigrants escaping violence and persecution in their home countries. But Casar’s bill would also ensure that our government works to avoid and prevent the kinds of conditions that force people from their homes and communities in the first place.
Our members of Congress must support this resolution and push back against hateful anti-immigrant rhetoric. It’s also imperative that they work to review harmful U.S. foreign policies that worsen political and economic instability in other countries. Congress should also streamline the legal pathways for migration and citizenship to ensure they are accessible and efficient.
Please sign on now to ask your Representative to co-sponsor and pass the Migration Stability Resolution!
Change is possible, but only if we work together.
Thank you,
Democratic Values
