** Lessons from Indigenous Lifeways and Our Feathered Relatives
------------------------------------------------------------

In this time of crises — climate change, ecocide, declining biodiversity, social inequity, injustice, and political turmoil — understanding of Indigenous lifeways and values can help us envision and create a better future for all of us. Core values that are common to many Indigenous cultures — relationship, responsibility, reciprocity, and redistribution help us to be good stewards of our communities and ecosystems in sacred kinship with all our relatives. Birds are important guides and can provide us with an understanding of these values. We have much to learn from our feathered relatives. Join the conversation.

Cultural Survival advocates for Indigenous Peoples' rights and supports Indigenous communities’ self-determination, cultures and political resilience since 1972. We envision a future that respects and honors Indigenous Peoples' inherent rights and dynamic cultures, deeply and richly interwoven in lands, languages, spiritual traditions, and artistic expression, rooted in self-determination and self-governance.
