Viktoria and her children fled Odesa, Ukraine in 2022. She couldn’t stay in her home anymore; her children were terrified by the constant sound of explosions. The family found safety at a Refugee Accommodation Centre in neighbouring Moldova, in the capital city Chișinău.
“The conditions here are all very good. I like it very much. I am happy that I happened to be in this centre, I was lucky.” Viktoria said
People like Viktoria and her young family are still concerned about the coming winter. Temperatures in Moldova often drop well below freezing in the winter months, leading to harsh storms and deep snowfall. Families need more than simply roofs over their heads. They desperately need cash assistance to help pay for items like heaters and thick winter clothing to keep the family warm and well throughout the winter months.
