Dear Law Students,

Call for Papers for Student Webinar Series

The Animal Law Academy is excited to announce a Call for Papers for a new webinar series celebrating law student scholarship. Students whose papers are selected will receive one-on-one prep and practice time with Animal Legal Defense Fund staff members before presenting their papers in a 30-minute webinar format. Applications are due June 5.

Congratulations Graduates!

If you’d like to stay involved in animal law after graduation, you can join the Animal Legal Defense Fund’s Pro Bono Program. The support of attorneys nationwide is integral to helping us protect the lives and advance the interests of animals through the legal system. Our Pro Bono Program is the nation’s largest pro bono network for animal protection and utilizes volunteers to support our litigation, criminal justice, and legislative goals. Volunteer attorneys can work on a variety of projects including research and citation checking, writing legal information guides, filing amicus briefs, and litigating cases. You may also want to sign up for our Law Professional eNewsletter (check the box at the bottom of the link).

Center for Animal Law Studies Online Summer Courses

The Center for Animal Law Studies at Lewis & Clark Animal Law Summer Program classes are available for academic credit to Lewis & Clark law students, visiting law students, and international students. They are also available for auditing by attorneys and non-law students. Classes include three online offerings: Aquatic Animal Law, The Law & Ethics of Animal Testing, and Animal Rights Law & Jurisprudence. The Center for Animal Law Studies is also offering Visiting and Auditing Student Scholarships for The Law & Ethics of Animal Testing summer course.
