VIDEO OF THE DAY: Matt Gaetz hit with dreaded news in brutal update on sex scandal
The insufferable Florida man Donald Trump wants to elevate to the highest law enforcement post in the land just cannot seem to make the damning House ethics report investigating his alleged underage sex trafficking go away, despite House Speaker Mike Johnson's best efforts to sweep the nagging scandal under the rug.

Thank you, Kamala! Now we fight back
MoveOn: Vice President Kamala Harris had 107 days to unite the Democratic Party and launch her campaign for president. She made history as the first Black and South Asian woman to secure a major political party’s nomination. And her groundbreaking campaign was carried by Black women and other women of color leaders who came out en masse to donate, organize, volunteer, and vote. We will not allow their sacrifices, efforts, and hope be erased in this darkness. Add your name to say thank you and that you will keep fighting!
Trump confirms he will utilize US military to conduct mass deportations
Cool, cool, cool. Good to know 76 million Americans are AOK with this autocratic, mind-numbingly reckless use of our armed forces.

Judge strikes down Wyoming’s anti-abortion laws in victory for rights advocates
Now for a spot of not-so-terrible news... A Wyoming judge has struck down the state’s overall ban on abortion and its first-in-the-country explicit prohibition on the use of medication to end pregnancy — in line with voters in further states voicing sensible support for abortion rights. The decision on Monday marks another victory for abortion rights advocates after voters in seven states passed measures in support of access. Currently, 13 states are enforcing bans on abortion at all stages of pregnancy, with limited exceptions, and four have bans that kick in at or about six weeks into pregnancy — before most women realize they're pregnant.
Vladimir Putin lowers threshold for use of nuclear weapons as war in Ukraine approaches three years
Russian President Vladimir Putin formally lowered the threshold for Moscow’s deployment of nuclear weapons on Tuesday, ostensibly in response to the US loosening restrictions on Ukraine’s use of long-range weapons to strike deep inside Russian territory. Russia will now regard any attack by a non-nuclear country supported by a nuclear power as a joint attack, and “reserves the right to consider a nuclear response to a conventional weapons attack threatening its sovereignty, a large-scale launch of enemy aircraft, missiles, and drones targeting Russian territory, their crossing the Russian border, and an attack on its ally Belarus,” the Russian state news agency TASS reported. Friendly reminder that Russia invaded Ukraine, its sovereign neighbor to the east, in early 2022, resulting in an estimated 80,000 military deaths and counting.
Pope calls for investigation into whether Israel's actions constitute genocide
Pope Francis has called for an investigation to determine if Israel's military attacks on Gaza constitute genocide. It's the first time he's suggested in public that Israel may be engaged in genocide. Francis said, "According to some experts, what is happening in Gaza has the characteristics of a genocide." The Pope has repeatedly called for a ceasefire in Gaza, as well as for the release of the hostages and increased humanitarian aid to Gaza. Earlier, he suggested Israel's attacks are immoral and disproportionate. Nearly 44,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since October 7, 2023, according to Gaza's Health Ministry.
Project Unloaded takes on America's deadly, toxic gun culture
Project Unloaded: We don’t have to wait four more years to take on gun violence. Project Unloaded is taking on gun culture today — and you can too. To stop gun violence, we must change gun laws — and gun culture. The gun industry has sold us on the myth that guns make us safer. They’ve made millions — while Americans have paid with their lives. The truth is that homes with guns have twice as many homicides as homes without firearms. Gun suicides are three times as likely in homes with a gun. It's going to take all of us to change America's toxic gun culture, and it starts with you. Will you add your name and pledge to live your life unloaded?
Matt Gaetz took two women to see Pretty Woman on Broadway after flying them to NYC and paying them for sex, lawyer says
Jeez, Matt. A little on the nose, even for you, no?
Sit-down with Trump backfires spectacularly on "Morning Joe" hosts
Husband-and-wife hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski met with the MAGA cult leader on Friday and told viewers on Monday’s show they decided it was time to "restart communications" — whatever the hell that means — after a long-standing feud. "Don't be mistaken: We are not here to defend or normalize Donald Trump," Scarborough said with a straight face while clearly doing just that. The pathetic groveling won them exactly zero new fans, but it did prompt withering incoming fire from all sides, including MAGA podcaster Megyn Kelly, who bluntly responded, "Go f*ck yourselves." Well, they kinda just did.
Republican Nancy Mace introduces bill to stop trans women using female bathrooms on Hill — as first trans woman elected
GOP Rep. Nancy Mace just introduced petty, performative legislation to ban transgender women from using women’s restrooms on Capitol Hill just as the first transgender woman is about to be sworn into Congress. Good to know Republicans are spending their time tackling the nation's most pressing issues, like openly targeting a solitary United States representative and policing where grown-ass adults can and cannot go pee-pee.
Far-right militia targets US military over baseless hurricane "weather weapon" claims
The late George Carlin said it best: "Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that."
