Dear John,

The Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA) is proud to announce a major victory: the Illinois ban on commonly owned firearms and accessories, known as “PICA,” has been ruled unconstitutional by Federal District Judge Stephen McGlynn. Starting December 8th, 2024, Illinois will be prohibited from enforcing this unconstitutional law’s provisions on registration, possession, and purchase of commonly owned firearms and accessories.

This is a significant win for law-abiding Illinois firearm owners—but the fight doesn’t end here. The State is expected to appeal this ruling to the Seventh Circuit federal appellate court. The ISRA Legal Assistance Committee urgently needs your financial support today to keep us in this battle. Please make a tax-deductible donation of $50, $100, $250, $500, $1,000, or any amount you can to defend your Second Amendment rights.

This victory reaffirms our commitment. From the start, ISRA warned lawmakers of the law’s unconstitutionality. When Governor Pritzker signed this ban, we immediately took action, partnering with the Second Amendment Foundation to challenge it in federal court. With your help, we’re prepared to defend this decision—all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court if necessary.

Your support today ensures we can protect this ruling at every stage. Please consider making a year-end, tax-deductible donation to the ISRA Legal Assistance Committee. With your help, this ruling could mark a turning point in restoring Second Amendment rights across Illinois—just in time for the holidays and winter hunting season. Every dollar brings us closer to ensuring that Illinoisans can exercise their rights freely and without interference.
