Friends,
Today, the King County Council is scheduled to vote to raise property taxes through a simple majority vote, and without a vote of the people. This new tax is being marketed as a needed funding source for Harborview Medical Center, but a large portion of the funds will be used to instead prop up King County’s inefficient and financially unsustainable public health clinics.
Yesterday, I penned an Op-ed in the Seattle Times indicating my opposition to this new tax. READ THE FULL STORY HERE!
With prices at all-time highs, will you stand with me to oppose this new tax on King County residents? Send a message to King County to oppose this new tax by supporting my campaign here: ReaganDunn.com/NoNewTax
From the Op-ed: “If the council is really going to pass another property tax hike, it should do so with the intent to use the tax dollars as intended — to fund Harborview, not to make up for King County’s financial shortcomings. King County needs to make the necessary choices to improve operations, reduce waste and balance its budget. Looking to taxpayers for more money should always be a last resort. The Metropolitan King County Council should not pass this new, flawed property tax.”
I hope you’ll stand with me in urging the King County Council to cut waste, remove inefficiency, and budget responsibly before adding yet another tax on King County’s already overtaxed residents.
