Dear friends and partners,

This weekend, our Board District 4 team hosted our 3rd annual School Beautification Day at Paul Revere Middle School. We had nearly 200 volunteers come out to help paint a beautiful mural, plant trees, clean and refresh the campus, collect non-perishable food items for our Thanksgiving food drive, and more! Thank you to all our volunteers, sponsors, and partners for their hard work and support of this school community.

We are also grateful to voters for approving Measure US, LAUSD’s $9 billion facilities bond, to help us continue investing in the critical upgrades, campus modernizations, and innovative learning spaces fit for our next generation of leaders. As chair of the District's Facilities and Procurement Committee, I will continue to advocate for us to streamline and improve current policies and practices, and promote public transparency and awareness for current and future projects.

Onward,

In addition to this weekend's School Beautification Day, over the past few weeks, my team and I have been thrilled to celebrate Halloween at several BD4 schools and Día de los Muertos at Grand View ES, participate in the annual Del Rey Days Spelling Bee, commemorate Veterans Day with civic leaders in West Hollywood, visit classrooms at Serrania ES, Woodland Hills MS, Braddock ES, and Melrose ES, attend the Holocaust Museum LA's boxcar lifting ceremony to introduce a new exhibit, joined families for a student opera performance at Leichman CTC, and joined partners and District leaders for a post-election convening to provide information and resources for our students and families.

Meet Dahlia, a driven and compassionate leader making a difference at Rosewood STEM Magnet! As Student Council President, Dahlia helps run morning assemblies, plans events, and collaborates with her peers to improve school life. Her biggest goal is ensuring every student feels safe and welcome. Dahlia has learned that honesty and teamwork are essential for success, and she's already tackling big challenges—like improving behavior on campus through after-school classes where students can share their feelings and work on solutions together. Her advice to her fellow Huskies: “Work hard and never give up!”
