Donald Trump attended the UFC championship fight at Madison Square Garden this weekend — and brought his whole crew, including Elon Musk, RFK Jr., and Vivek Ramaswamy.

And for some reason, Mayor Adams joined them for the fight.

Instead of someone who joins Donald Trump ringside to curry favor in hopes of getting a pardon, we need a leader who fights for New Yorkers. Our city’s mayor should be fighting sky-high rents, fighting to keep our families safe, and fighting to improve the quality-of-life in our neighborhoods. Those are the fights that New York City’s mayor should be laser-focused on – not the one in the MSG octagon.

And in the foreboding days ahead, we’re going to need a mayor who will fight to protect New Yorkers from the grave risks that a Trump presidency poses to immigrants, women, and LGBTQ New Yorkers, as well as devastating potential cuts to our city’s public schools, housing, and health care.

John, we can’t trust Mayor Adams to focus on protecting our city and fighting for the New Yorkers who will face the brunt of Trump’s cruel policies. And we can’t trust him to deliver on the things voters are angry about – like cost-of-living, affordability, safety, and quality-of-life.

I’m running for Mayor to fight for you. To bring laser-focused, trustworthy, effective leadership to City Hall. To deliver a safer, more affordable, more livable, and better run city. And to show that we can stand up for and deliver on New York City’s values – even when times get tough.
