The House is re-introducing H.R. 9495, a “nonprofit killer” bill that would give the Trump administration unprecedented power to effectively shut down any tax-exempt organization that dissents against it – including NYCC.
Last week thousands of people pressured their representatives to defeat this bill, but MAGA politicians rushed to reintroduce it today and only need a simple majority to pass it.
We can’t give an inch to Trump and his incoming administration – the House will vote again this Wednesday and we need your action now to defend our right to dissent.

The existential threat this bill poses is real, Friend. Once in office, the Trump administration would use this bill to attack non-profits accused of “supporting terrorism” to revoke their tax-exempt status.
Losing tax-exempt status would effectively end many nonprofits’ ability to operate. It’s a clear attempt to crush dissent from any group that opposes the administration’s policies or provides support to communities targeted by an incoming Trump administration.
The Trump administration and MAGA politicians are using H.R. 9495 to clear the way for their far-right extremist agenda and strip away our democracy, but we’re not backing down – our movement defeated this bill once and we can again with your action.
