Trump will mobilize the United States Military for mass deportations.

In doing so, he goes beyond abuse of authority. He undermines the public perception of the Military to the entire nation. No longer will our military be perceived just as an apolitical force that acts in our collective defense, but an extension of Donald Trump that is pulling families and friends from a community by force.

It’s horrifying. But we’re afraid this is only the beginning.

In deploying the Military on American soil for domestic purposes it will allow him to normalize the use of the Military against American citizens. Make no mistake: This is Trump’s path to using the Military to put down lawful protests against his administration, and worse.

He told us all that this is what he would do. He was clear on the campaign trail that this was his goal — and he said it repeatedly. Whether or not this is what many people wanted when they voted for Donald Trump, this is what he promised. And unfortunately, this is what they are going to get.

The sad truth is... VoteVets is not positioned to prevent this from happening. But that does not mean that we are powerless.

Even now, even before he has taken office, many Americans are beginning to understand who and what they voted for. Our job now and for the next four years is to show everyone what Trump is and what he is doing to our country. We have to make it clear — we have to show it.

We may not be able to stop him, but you can be sure that we will fight him every step of the way.
