fill 50 backpacks!

Dear Friend,

Many Languages One Voice has been working with families who have opened their homes to youth who have come across the US-Mexico border. These children have been through the US's traumatic and punitive system of detention, and are about to start school.
Can we fill 50 backpacks for unaccompanied migrants and immigrant youth organizers in the week before school starts?
Purchase through the registry now.

DC Jobs With Justice and MLOV are working together to celebrate and welcome these new students into our community. We're doing it because solidarity is an act of resistance. We're doing it to supplement the immense generosity of their guardians. We're doing it because these are kids, and they deserve to learn and grow. And we're doing it because these families may not know where else to turn.

50 ready backpacks in 1 week. Can you help us meet our goal?

The registry has items as low as $1 to help kids get ready for school. It includes a cash option which we will give directly to the students to purchase clothes or other necessities to feel good and prepared for school. Any additional backpacks will be given to MLOV's youth leaders.

Thank you for your solidarity,

The whole DC JWJ team
