Friends,
Direct advocacy with election officials is a strategy we’ve used for over 20 years to protect voters. Our staff has worked with state and local election administrators to ensure elections are free, fair and accessible.
But, what if we could take voter protection to scale and mobilize a network of volunteers to monitor problematic election changes? What if volunteer leaders were trained to connect directly with election officials and secure the measures needed to make voting easier for Black and Brown voters?
We don’t have to imagine it any longer.
On Thursday, May 28 at 6:00 p.m. ET, Advancement Project National Office will launch its Democratizing Voter Protection (DVP) Project with an inaugural information session for grassroots organizations, advocates and organizers. Register now to attend.
During the virtual meeting, our new Democratizing Voter Protection Organizer, Chris Bufford, will discuss how Advancement Project will build a sustainable voter protection infrastructure, owned and operated by local grassroots advocates.
In a review of this new model of voter protection, Chris will discuss how voter protection leaders will leverage local relationships to build power, identify voting issues and fix them as they arise in and beyond the 2020 election cycle.
Learn how Advancement Project National Office will:
-
Develop advocacy curriculum training leaders to hold meetings with election officials
-
Conduct trainings for voter protection captains
-
Support captains and our partner organizations in executing ongoing accountability efforts through policy, organizing, legal and communications strategies.
Join us to hear about the key role you can play in making change. Register today for the Democratizing Voter Protection Project inaugural information session today!
In solidarity,
The Advancement Project Team
