Once again, this year's presidential election came down to just a handful of swing states.
The promise of America is that everyone deserves to have an equal voice in our elections, and there's only one way to truly fulfill that promise: Abolish the Electoral College.
This isn't a radical position. The vast majority of Americans want to replace the Electoral College with the popular vote – and have since the 1960s.
To put it simply, if it were up to the majority of Americans, the Constitution would have ALREADY been amended to elect the president based on the nationwide popular vote.
But because the GOP understands that the composition of the Electoral College has benefited them for decades, they’ve campaigned HARD to oppose these efforts so they can continue stacking the halls of leadership with their hard-right, extremist candidates and imposing their deeply unpopular agenda on the American people.
We deserve better, and it's time for us to rise up and demand it.
