My name is Terry, and caring people like you helped grant my son TJ’s wish to go to outer space earlier this year. The entire wish experience truly changed everything for TJ and our family – and we couldn’t be more grateful.

I want to share a bit more about the lasting impact of TJ’s wish, but before I do that, I hope you’ll consider making a gift for other kids who are still waiting for their own wishes to come true as they grow up with a critical illness.

TJ was diagnosed with cancer when he was just 6 years old. It was a whirlwind for our whole family. It’s the kind of thing that you see on TV, but you never expect it to happen to your child. In an instant, he went from our little boy playing on the floor with blocks to being in the hospital and facing a terrifying diagnosis.

While TJ was in the hospital for his treatments, he would watch countless videos about space to take his mind off of what he was going through. So when Make-A-Wish(R) came into our lives, he knew what his wish would be: to go to outer space.

When his wish finally came true, it was an unforgettable, awe-inspiring experience. We visited a space center, where TJ got to see rockets that have gone into space. He sat inside a landing pod and experienced what it would be like falling back to Earth. He even got to talk to actual astronauts and ask all of his burning questions about space.

Now, when TJ thinks back to his wish experience, it continues to be a source of joy, hope and strength – giving him the motivation to keep pushing through his cancer treatments and holding onto the knowledge that there are better, brighter days ahead.

That’s the kind of lasting impact that this community made possible for my son and my family. But the heartbreaking reality is that there are thousands of other kids just like TJ who are still waiting for a wish to be the turning point in their medical journey – and your gift today can help make those wishes come true.

So please, I’m personally asking: Will you donate however much you’re able to give today and help provide more kids like TJ with the lasting hope, joy and strength that can only come from a wish?

Thank you so much for making it possible for my son to have his wish granted and for all you do to help other wishes come true, too.

Terry
TJ’s dad
