Dear John,
We don’t know what the future holds in light of a second Trump administration, and while we are hoping for the best, we are preparing for any challenges ahead.
Connecticut has long been a leader in reproductive rights, setting an example for the nation. Starting with Griswold v. Connecticut, the 1965 Supreme Court case that established the right to privacy in family planning, our state has continually fought to protect and expand access to reproductive healthcare.
As one of the first states to codify Roe v. Wade into state law and pass landmark “safe harbor” legislation that shields patients and providers from out-of-state legal threats, Connecticut has made proactive strides to protect abortion access and continues to do so today.
In keeping with this commitment, Attorney General Tong, in partnership with the Reproductive Equity Now Foundation, has announced the introduction of an abortion hotline. This confidential service connects patients with providers who can offer the care they need.
If you or someone you know could benefit from this free service, you can reach the hotline by dialing (833) 309-6301.
Actions like these by our Democratic leadership are a testament to our state’s values of dignity, respect, and autonomy for all individuals. Connecticut continues to stand as a beacon of support for those seeking abortion care, and your CT Dems will work to ensure we continue to lead the nation on reproductive rights.
As we continue our work in supporting bodily autonomy, we need your help to maintain our momentum and advocate for policies that protect reproductive rights. Can you chip in today to support our efforts? Thank you for standing with us in this fight!
Sincerely,
Sarah Locke Executive Director |
