Just days ago, Americans voted in a new Congress. As they prepare to take office and the gun lobby mobilizes, we must send a clear and unified message: We demand action.
So we're calling on 500 gun safety advocates in your area to respond to this urgent poll before midnight tonight and tell us:

John, over the past year, we've seen some major victories for our movement in the courts, along with some significant setbacks.
In August, Missouri was prevented from implementing and enforcing the dangerous act that declared federal gun laws invalid and blocked state and local officials from helping enforce federal gun laws.
This decision upholds what we know to be true: Common-sense gun safety laws are constitutional, and any attempt by states to invalidate federal gun laws is not.
However, just days before this victory, a U.S. district judge dismissed criminal charges for illegally possessing a machine gun on “Second Amendment” grounds.
This reckless and dangerous ruling defies the Constitution and well-established Supreme Court precedent on regulating machine guns, all while jeopardizing the safety of our families, children, and communities.
Court cases like these make it painfully obvious that we need clear, decisive action from Congress regulating weapons of war to keep them off our streets and out of our communities. In other words, we need a renewed assault weapons ban.
We're counting on you to be one of the 500 gun safety advocates we need in your area to respond to this urgent poll before midnight tonight. Please, tell us:
Should Congress ban assault weapons?
