I know you might be worried about what the next four years of a Donald Trump presidency could look like—I want you to know that my commitment to defending reproductive rights remains as strong as ever.

I want to assure you of this, John: Neither a Donald Trump presidency nor a Republican majority in the Senate and the House will stop me from working to protect abortion access and in vitro fertilization (IVF).

The right to access reproductive care, including IVF, is critical to our health. Women and their doctors should decide what health care decisions are best for themselves and their families—not Republican politicians.

We have already witnessed Republican-controlled states enact strict abortion laws, some of which have no exceptions. We now are seeing reports of women who are miscarrying dying waiting for care in many of these states. Now, Donald Trump and his MAGA minions are intent on reversing the progress we have made together. They are pushing for a national abortion ban and seeking to strip reproductive care from millions of Americans.

Nevertheless, I have—and will—always defend and protect reproductive rights. I’ve been leading the charge in the Senate, but I need more allies with me in this push for progress.
