Each month we hold Planning Commission meetings and present to the Board of Island County Commissioners on topics relevant to Island County’s 2025 Comprehensive Plan Update. Below are our upcoming meetings and engagement opportunities.  

 

Planning Commission

The next Planning Commission meeting will be on November 20th at 6 PM. There will be presentations from the Camano Island American Legion and Whidbey Environmental Action Network (WEAN) on their work plan in support of our 2025 Comprehensive Plan Update. There will also be an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) discussion led by Commissioner Jackson. See the agenda center for meeting materials.

 

Engagement Opportunities

Last month, we held three stakeholder workshops to discuss the Climate Resiliency Sub Element for the Comprehensive Plan. Recordings of the workshops can be found here.

 

Public Works is updating the Parks Element of the Comp Plan & is looking to hear from you! They currently are running a survey to gather community input and have a second round of open houses across both islands scheduled for December. Learn more and take their survey here.

 

The Camano Island American Legion is hosting a Comprehensive Plan Information and Q&A meeting on December 3rd starting at 6 PM. The meeting will be held at the Camano Island American Legion, 609 SW Camano Drive, Camano, WA 98282. There is a virtual option via Google Meet, join using  https://meet.google.com/gwr-osdq-koj.
