Recess Games: Why Senators Should Resist Trump's Confirmation Scheme |
by Suzanne Bowdey |
It's been a good 14 years since Washington duked it out over recess appointments - but Donald Trump seems determined to change that. In his rush to confirm key officials, the president-elect sent a strong message to Republicans on social media, insisting that whoever leads the Senate (which we now know will be South Dakota's John Thune) has to help the White House bypass the typical confirmation process. But why is that necessary if the GOP controls the Senate? Good question, experts say. |

Here Are Donald Trump's 'Promises Made' on Transgenderism and Abortion |
by Ben Johnson |
As once-and-future President Donald J. Trump strode to the podium to deliver his victory speech after winning the 2024 presidential election, he made his exuberant followers a solemn vow: "I will govern by a simple motto: Promises made, promises kept." President Trump, who made greater efforts to keep his campaign pledges as the 45th president than perhaps any modern president in decades, has vowed to protect children from irreversible surgeries, uproot extreme transgender ideology from government, enshrine parental rights, and end the weaponization of government against Christians and pro-life advocates. |

A new report from the government watchdog organization OpenTheBooks.com reveals how successful they have been. |

by Sarah Holliday |
Women who are pro-abortion are using their social media platforms to tell others that they need to stock up on Plan B, the morning-after pill, and other forms of so-called "emergency contraception" before Donald Trump takes office in January. One user stated on TikTok that women should buy boxes of Plan B to keep "on deck until the next election." A woman responded on X, stating, "[I]'m so seriously about to buy a box per paycheck until [I] can't anymore." |

Trump Adds RFK Jr. to His Cabinet |
by S.A. McCarthy |
President-elect Donald Trump is continuing to introduce the key players in his new administration, eliciting both excitement and controversy. Some of Trump's administration and Cabinet picks, like campaign co-chair Susie Wiles as White House Chief of Staff, former acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Tom Homan as "border czar," and Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) as Secretary of State were unsurprising, but others have been more contentious. |
