- Trump also picked Heritage Visiting Fellow Tom Homan, former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), as the “Border Czar” to restore law and order and secure our borders.
- And he tapped Heritage Visiting Fellow John Ratcliffe to serve as CIA director. Ratcliffe previously served as the Director of National Intelligence in the first Trump administration.

DOGE Has Its Work Cut Out for It |

Drain the swamp: Trump also announced the creation of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), helmed by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy. The non-governmental initiative will target waste and regulations.
- "This will send shockwaves through the system, and anyone involved in government waste, which is a lot of people!" Musk posted on X.
- Senior Policy Analyst David Ditch said that: “The days of the swamp drowning Americans in reckless deficits and endless red tape are over.”
