“I wanted to volunteer so that I could bond with the girls in Prison Fellowship [Academy(R)] and help them through some of the tough parts.”
—Jessica
Jessica was married at 21. She and her husband then had three beautiful children. However, things took a turn for the worse when Jessica and her husband decided to divorce, resulting in shared custody of the children.
Determined to provide for her kids, Jessica began shoplifting—an activity she justified as a necessity—which later sent her to prison. After her release, she returned to shoplifting, and subsequently, she returned to prison.
By the time Jessica arrived at Lancaster County Jail, she already felt her life was broken.
But through the power of the Holy Spirit and the words of a volunteer leading a Bible study in jail, Jessica found herself desiring a relationship with the Lord.
