With the whole country and world now forging a way forward in the aftermath of COVID-19, it’s important that you know I am working hard for you.

China’s dangerous mishandling of the Coronavirus outbreak and response - claiming that it could not easily spread, co-opting of the World Health Organization (WHO) to spread misinformation, banning the travel of exposed Chinese citizens to other parts of China but allowing them to travel anywhere else in the world, and much more - remind us of the dangers of being overly-dependent on China.

China must be held accountable and I have taken steps to do just that!

1. I’m working to expose and end our country’s dependence on Chinese drugs. Last year it was discovered that millions of Americans were taking a blood pressure drug containing a cancer-causing ingredient from China…and this was not the first such incident. I drafted bipartisan legislation to put a stop to our reliance on China for life-saving drugs. And, on May 6th I wrote to President Trump urging that he issue an Executive Order to end this dependence.

2. I voted to protect American inventors from having their inventions stolen, supported President Trump’s trade initiatives to hold China accountable, and blocked billions of dollars in federal pension funds from being invested in companies owned by the Chinese Communist Party and Chinese military.

I am proud to have President Trump’s endorsement for re-election in November, and I look forward to continuing to work with him on your behalf to confront the challenges posed by China and address the many challenges ahead.
