Throughout this recent crisis, I’ve been proud to work with government officials all across Michigan as we respond to COVID-19.
Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin has been an excellent partner in ensuring that personal protective equipment finds its ways to Michigan. And we’ve been partners in the fight to make sure that federal rescue funds end up back here in Michigan -- to support our small businesses, hospitals, and folks who find themselves unemployed.
I met Elissa back when we were running in neighboring districts that had quite a few similarities. Both of our districts, Michigan’s 11th and 8th, voted for President Trump in 2016 and had been represented by Republicans in Congress for years.
But thanks to the help of many of you in 2018, we flipped these districts and have been able to advocate for Michigan’s working families in Washington.
Now, we’re up for reelection. With all eyes on Michigan, our races remain highly competitive. Michigan is a must-win state for Joe Biden, and ensuring that Elissa and I are able to reach our voters is a key part of the strategy to win Michigan.
President Trump won Michigan by the slimmest margin of any state in 2016 -- just under 11,000 votes. Winning Michigan is possible, but we need your support to do so.
