John,
The People’s Party's board of directors has recently
approved updated formal documents for its internal governance that are
now publicly available on our website. You can access them here
or by clicking “Governing Documents” in the left margin at the
bottom of each page.
These documents mainly relate to
the role and operational governance of local associations and their
boards of directors, as well as a code of conduct for all participants
of the People’s Party.
The PPC has had internal rules since
its founding, otherwise we couldn’t function as an organization. We’ve
also been experimenting with various solutions. We don't want to
simply replicate what the establishment parties are doing.
One
major concern that we’ve had is to avoid being hijacked by hostile
groups that want to take the party in a different direction. The PPC
has attracted hundreds of thousands of members, volunteers,
supporters, and voters since its launch in 2018 because we have been
consistent and stuck to our principles. You can be assured that we
won’t let this happen.
More governing documents will be
released at later dates, regarding for example the leadership contest
rules that will apply when our Founding Leader leaves. All these
documents constitute what some refer to as the party's constitution.
John, successfully running a national political party
in a huge country like Canada takes a lot of time, manpower and
resources. We couldn’t do it without your help!
