We want to hear from you!
In 2019, our membership voted to hold a yearly chapter convention- also referred to as a local convention. The purpose of the local convention is to deliberate, debate, and ultimately democratically decide the direction the chapter will go for the next year of organizing.
Due to the current pandemic and social distancing mandates, our originally scheduled date of hosting a physical convention on May 30, 2020 is no longer possible. At our last virtual general membership meeting, members discussed how the chapter should move forward. We heard input from members regarding the value of having difficult and necessary political discussions in person, balancing the timing of the convention in respect to leadership elections, and more.
We are now asking members to contribute to the conversation by taking the following survey on when the convention should be held. The results will be discussed at our May General Membership Meeting, this Saturday (5/16/2020) along with finalizing our plans to host the local convention.
We could not have predicted a pandemic would derail our first convention! But we are committed to ensuring we- together, as a chapter- have the important political discussions necessary to decide our collective direction. We appreciate your patience and input!
