Moments ago my Republican opponent, Cory Gardner, went up on the air with his first TV ad — bankrolled by donations from corporate special interest donors.

Frankly, we thought we’d have more time to prepare for the next phase of this race. Turns out, we don’t.

Cory Gardner is vulnerable. The polls show us ahead because the people of Colorado are tired of a failing Senator who refuses to stand up to the president or do what’s best for our state.

But this race is ranked a “toss-up,” which means it’s anyone’s game. Republicans and their mega-donors are dumping nearly $12 million into Colorado to save Gardner and presumably attack my character and distort my record.

I know we have what it takes to win this seat. The GOP might outspend us, but they sure as heck won’t outwork us. That’s why I’m counting on folks like you to help us build a campaign strong enough to combat the attacks.
