Dear park advocate,
Despite objection from the environmental and impacted communities, BLM is determined to move forward with the public comment period for development near Chaco Canyon.
We can hardly call it a public comment period since the coronavirus outbreak has halted all public discussion and we have not had a fair process for soliciting feedback and public input. There's so much at stake for the Greater Chaco Canyon Region, we have to get this right.
This really could be our last chance to protect this park.
There are less than two weeks left to submit a comment to help protect Chaco Canyon. Submit your comment right now using our simple tool and let the Bureau of Land Management know you oppose development near Chaco Canyon!

Together we've fought back attempts to develop the Chaco Canyon Region for years. But this time feels different. The Navajo Nation and Pueblos have been hit hard with COVID-19, and all of their already overtaxed resources and leaders are focused on keeping their communities healthy. Despite the crisis, the input of these communities-of everyone-is invaluable.
I don't know if BLM understands how important the sacred ancestral landscape around Chaco Canyon is to the local tribes--how important it is to all of us. There is and always has been overwhelming support for protecting this area, yet we keep having to defend it.
But you know what, first_name? With you on our side, I know we'll win.
How do I know? Because every time we've asked you to weigh in to protect our national parks, you've done it. When Utah's national parks were under threat from off-roading, you came together to speak out. And we won. And when Joshua Tree was at risk from commercial development, you rallied against it. And we won. And we're going to do it again for Chaco Canyon and we're going to win.
Take two minutes right now to submit your comments to BLM urging them to oppose development near the greater Chaco Canyon area before the upcoming deadline!
