Hello True Texans!

Here's the lettering I put up on the wall in my house when we first moved in:

Has that ever been more true?  Every day feels like Christmas as more announcements come from the Trump administration.  I just really feel privileged to be alive at this time in history.  How long have we all been groaning with the burden of a nation gone astray? Now we are in brighter days, and it feels good!  Obviously we can never rest.  (I used to tell my government students, "There is always someone trying to steal your freedom.")  But in the midst of our work, I'm definitely smiling a little bit more, and we all have a little hop in our step.  Have you noticed?  😉

We are also celebrating something else... This fall THREE of our True Texans received the coveted Conservative Leader Award.  Texas Scorecard presented them with engraved sabers at various events around the state.  We are so proud of them!

Ok, now that I brought you up, let me bring you down a bit...

I need to tell you that our 2nd biggest donor just announced he's no longer making political contributions, so we have a huge gap to fill.  I'm a little freaked out, but I know God has always provided for our efforts.  Maybe He wants to do that through you!  Think about it!  I'll have to be harping on it a lot in the next few weeks.  Help us out!  Raising funds is the part of the job Fran and I hate, and we have to do so much of it.  Please be generous.  ❤️

📆Coming up this month for TTP statewide...

Are we crazy???  We've got 34 items on our calendar for TTP events in November. And that's a slow month! Don't miss your opportunities to get plugged in.  Remember, iron sharpens iron.  We need to be hanging together!

We don't host meetings in December (just a few parties!), so get to a meeting in November while you can!

Looking ahead - ALL locations invited!

November 27th - Friendsgiving Potluck & Hymn Sing
This event began as a gathering in the McCarty home for those who had no Thanksgiving plans of their own.  Soon, it became too big for a house, and we moved it to a community room.  It's so popular, we host it again every year! All are welcome, single or family! If you are looking for a place to share gratitude with friends, this is it! Or check our events for one local to you.

December 12th - True Texas Christmas - Dueling Pianos
A statewide party for all!
Held in the Christmas Capital of Texas...
Make a weekend of it, starting with this incredibly fun, interactive music show! After the show, we negotiated a special hotel rate so you can stick around and enjoy all Grapevine has to offer during the holidays.

Save the date!
On the morning of Saturday, January 11, we're bringing author and speaker Meg Basham to the DFW metroplex! Watch for details THIS WEEK, and make plans now to travel as needed.

Before I close, let me say just one more time how great it is to work with y'all.  I saw more citizens than ever before getting involved and actually doing something to pull this election off. So proud of Texas. Those who stay on the sidelines miss out on this huge sense of accomplishment.

Thanks for being part of the True Texas army!

For the love of Texas,
Julie McCarty, CEO

PS.  A patriot from Lubbock sent this in and I thought I'd share:

Many say the founding fathers were not Christian but were agnostics and deists. Ben Franklin is usually sighted as a chief example. But take a look at this lost episode in American History. We call it the “Miracle in Philadelphia.”
