Breonna Taylor deserves justice.
Generation Progress

Hey John,

As a Black woman in America, I shouldn’t have to fear for my father’s life, or my sister’s, or my mother’s, or the lives of anyone in this country who looks like me.

But, I do.

Today I am turning my feelings of grief, anger, fear, and sadness into action and demanding justice for Breonna Taylor.

On March 13, 2020, 26-year-old Breonna Taylor was murdered in her own home in Louisville, KY, after Louisville Metro Police officers burst in unannounced, in plain-clothes, to execute a “no-knock” search warrant—for a suspect who was already in police custody.

Taylor’s boyfriend Kenneth Walker, believing someone was breaking into their home, called 911 and opened fire.

The officers then fired more than 20 shots into the apartment, shooting Breonna Taylor eight times and killing her.

TAKE ACTION

It’s been two months since the murder of Breonna Taylor, and the Louisville Metro Police Department has yet to fully conduct an investigation of the officers involved in her murderor give full transparency to Taylor’s family.

One thing is clear, the LMPD officers involved were negligent and murdered an innocent Black woman—they must be held accountable for their egregious actions.

That’s why I’m asking you to call on Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer, Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, Commonwealth Attorney Thomas B. Wine, and Governor Andy Beshear to:

If not in the comfort of our own homes or while we’re out for a run, where do Black lives truly matter?

Take action and demand justice for Breonna today.

Be well,
