We cannot ignore the worsening crisis in the West Bank. Since violence escalated in the region more than a year ago, about half of the more than 1,000 attacks on health care facilities have taken place in the West Bank.
With so many health centers destroyed or overwhelmed with patients, UNFPA Mobile Health Clinics are the only option for many women and girls, like Mariam.
“Some days there are 50 women here – maybe 30 get medicine and 20 don’t because they run out,” Mariam shared with us about the Mobile Health Clinic that serves her community in the West Bank. “It is great they are here, but once a week is not enough.”
But with shortages of staff and supplies, even this lifeline is at risk.
Will you make a gift today to power UNFPA Mobile Health Clinics in the West Bank, Gaza, and wherever care is needed most?
Duaa, a volunteer with a mobile health team, benefitted from a UNFPA Mobile Health Clinic’s services when she gave birth to her son.
“Here, at the clinic, I get medicine for him for free. Without this help, we couldn't do it. There is nowhere else for us to go.”
He has been a joy in her life. But, because her baby was born with diabetes, Duaa is constantly worried about what will happen if he needs care and the clinic is not around.
“The sad truth is, if anyone needs any help urgently, they will probably die before they are able to get to a hospital.”
This is the harsh reality for so many families in the West Bank, Gaza, and in emergencies around the world. In moments of crisis, essential reproductive and primary health services go overlooked and underfunded.
And with President Trump assuming office in the coming months, there is a good chance the U.S. government stops funding our lifesaving services and mobile clinics like these. That’s why we are counting on donors like you to step up before the end of the year.
Will you make a gift today to deliver lifesaving care to women, girls, and their families surviving crises around the world?
We condemn the violence in Lebanon, Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel, and echo the UN Secretary-General’s call for a sustained humanitarian ceasefire and the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages by Hamas. The suffering must end and peace must prevail.
Thank you for not looking away.
