John, book bans aren't new. But they are increasingly prevalent as Republican politicians seek to ban our stories. Our kids deserve access to books, regardless of whether a politician thinks they are “good” or “bad”. MAGA book bans are more dystopian than the plots of some of the books they picked to ban!

My mother was a librarian, and her love of books began long before her career. She passed that love for books down to me. School and public libraries give people access to diverse stories and information. But Republicans want to ban LGTBTQ+ stories, POC stories, and countless others. Taking away access to books to fit a sinister narrative is unfathomable!

I believe in the power of reading. I believe in the value of our local and school libraries. Now is the time to stand up and support our educators, our libraries, and our readers!

Here at Speak Up PAC, we fight for our voices to be heard, in print and out loud. But we need your help to fight these oppressive book bans.
