Fellow activist, did you see this message?

While the election results were not exactly what we hoped for, we are so grateful for your support over the past year. Now, we are preparing to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and get back to work to build a PA that works for everyone.

Next year, PA voters will need to turn out to elect judges and justices in partisan elections and participate in nonpartisan judicial retention elections, including three PA Supreme Court seats. We expect these races will be high-profile, making national news and attracting dark money from right-wing special interest groups.

We need to start immediately to ensure that our centered communities – Black, Indigenous, and other people of color, immigrant communities, and the youth – don’t lose hope and are ready to turn out in 2025 for critical local, municipal, and judicial elections. More than ever, we need to make sure that we have an independent and fair judiciary in the Commonwealth.

Our work is far from finished. Help us prepare to protect the future of democracy in PA by pitching in $25 or more today →

We are so grateful for your ongoing support.

Thank you,

Team NPP

NPP supporters,

As election results continue to be called I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your generous support.

While the presidential and several statewide and congressional results were not exactly what we hoped for, we are proud of the work that we have accomplished together.

We are excited to see Speaker Joanna McClinton retain the gavel and State Senator-elect Patty Kim elevated in Dauphin County to name a few.

Our work is far from finished. In 2025, PA will elect judges and justices in partisan elections and participate in nonpartisan judicial retention elections, including three PA Supreme Court seats, that will undoubtedly make national news and attract right-wing dark money funders into our judicial races. We need to make sure that our communities do not lose hope, and turnout in 2025 for our local, municipal and judicial elections. An independent and fair judiciary is needed now more than ever before in the Commonwealth.

It’s critical that we remain vigilant and work together to protect the future of our democracy.

In 2022, our first full year in operation on the ground, we helped more than 20,000 Pennsylvanians register to vote and mobilized many of those newly registered voters to the polls. NPP helped flip Pennsylvania's State House for the first time in over a decade and we celebrated Joanna McClinton becoming the first woman Speaker of the PA House. Since then, we have helped to protect that majority throughout several special elections. Since our founding, NPP has assisted 46,000 Pennsylvanians register to vote and make their voices heard at the ballot box.

During the two week get out the vote period, we paused voter registration in favor of canvassing neighborhoods, knocking on more than 52,000 doors, making tens of thousands of calls, mailing thousands of pledge to vote cards (primarily to students) and organizing several candidate forums and community conversations to help turn out the vote.

But we still have work to do. In 2020, Trump ran a smear campaign against PA’s election administration and workers in an attempt to overturn the results. This year has been no different with election deniers attempting to do the same once again – working around the clock to sow doubt in our electoral processes by spreading conspiracy theories and lies. We must be prepared to go on the offensive and defend voting rights by pushing for a PA Voting Rights Act.

We will follow up with more information soon, but I wanted to first thank you for your continued support, and let you know the work continues.

It’s going to take all of us!

Onward,

Kadida Kenner

The New Pennsylvania Project (NPP) is a voting rights organization with a year-round primary focus on voter registration, civic education, and mobilization. NPP centers historically disenfranchised and often neglected Black, Indigenous and other people of color, immigrant communities and the youth in our work. Through civic engagement, we ensure all eligible voters feel compelled to exercise their freedom to vote in the Commonwealth.
