** DEAR FRIENDS,
------------------------------------------------------------
We haven't sent an update recently because we've been very busy.
The Steer Tailing season has thankfully come to an end, but we will continue our fight in the offseason because Boone and Ogle Counties still are choosing not to file criminal charges in spite of a mountain of evidence. As recently as last night, SHARK president Steve Hindi attended the Boone County Board meeting, and during public comment laid out a list of fraudulent and criminal activities we've uncovered in the last few months in addition to the mountain of evidence of criminal animal abuse.
Because Boone County is so incredibly corrupt, there was no reaction at all from the board members, which is just mind-boggling. We are going to continue to attend the board meetings of various counties to push our agenda of animal compassion, and corruption busting, and we'll continue to prod animal services and police departments to step up and take action.
If you follow us on Facebook or Instagram, you know how hard we are working, and how hard we are pushing reaching out to Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul and State’s Attorney’s in multiple counties to do their jobs and punish the perpetrators for the animal abuse happening across Illinois, and calling out our Northern Public Radio for their continued biased publications.

We are submitting Freedom of Information Act requests (FOIAs), and the information we are receiving will help to build our case of misconduct by Boone and Ogle County bureaucrats. With every action we take to make sure the appropriate action is being taken. For example, we just received a police report showing that after Steve Hindi delivered unedited footage from a steer tailing event directly to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, it was locked up in a cabinet and has yet to be reviewed! So we'll just have to keep pestering these people on a daily basis.
We have been fighting in Boone County for 3 LONG YEARS, and sometimes it seems there is little to show for it. But almost everywhere else, things are moving along. Will County, McHenry County, and most recently DeKalb County are all moving against the cruelty of steer tailing with a mixture of court action and tougher laws.
Most recently, DeKalb County Sheriff Andy Sullivan filed a complaint against the new steer tailing property in the county. Stay tuned for more developments. Our persistence is paying off, even if we still have a ways to go to properly resolve the issue in Illinois, so we can start working farther from home. We intend to expand our steer tailing campaign across the nation.
