Looking Ahead to the 119th Congress

I am incredibly honored to be returning to Congress next year to continue representing the good people of Central Washington. We have accomplished a lot over the last few years, but there is still important work to be done.

From protecting the Lower Snake River Dams and advocating for American energy dominance, to protecting our farmland from the Chinese Communist Party and securing our border, I remain committed to Central Washington's priorities in Congress.

I am looking forward to a productive 119th Congress, and will continue to keep you updated.

Thanks,

Dan Newhouse

Meeting with the American Ambulance Association

On Wednesday, I met with the American Ambulance Association.

They spoke about the importance of providing adequate ambulance services in rural areas, the prevalence of behavioral health and substance abuse issues in our communities, and how to bolster an effective healthcare workforce.

In rural communities like Central Washington, lack of accessible healthcare is a major issue, and I remain committed to expanding our options so residents are not forced to drive hours to receive the care they deserve.

Discussing the CCP with Fox Business

This week, I sat down with Sean McCourt from Fox Nation to discuss the Chinese Communist Party for their documentary, "Underwriting the Enemy: How do We Prevent US Investment from Funding the CCP?"

I discussed the CCP's ongoing campaign of malign influence and highlighted how their continued purchase of American farmland, especially near national security sites, works against our national security interests.

Western Caucus Corner

As Chairman of the Western Caucus and a co-sponsor of the Critical Mineral Consistency Act, I am proud to announce that the bill has successfully passed the House of Representatives this week.

This legislation simplifies and streamlines inter-agency coordination between the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and the Department of Energy (DOE) in determining which elements and minerals are most necessary for U.S. national, economic, and energy security.

We should be relying on the most up-to-date information when determining the elements and minerals for U.S. national and energy security, and this legislation ensures just that.
