Dear John,

This week the Government changed the lockdown rules. But the messaging on what we can and can’t do is even more confusing than before. And the amount of money you can be fined for getting it wrong has increased.

This is a recipe for injustice.

There have been countless stories of heavy-handed policing in recent weeks. At a time of severe anxiety for all of us, we need to be certain what the laws and regulations say – and what our rights are.

Our legal team has worked tirelessly to make sure Liberty’s coronavirus advice and information hub provides up-to-date guidance so we can all defend our rights, for ourselves and our communities.

If you shared this information when we asked last week – thank you. Please do share this update too. It’s crucial our explainers and advice reach as many people as possible.

The advice and information hub provides simple, accurate explainers covering:

It also provides guidance on how to make a complaint and find a lawyer if you need one.

The hub is regularly updated to keep up with any changes, so check back regularly.

Liberty has been challenging injustice, defending freedoms and campaigning to make the UK a fairer place for everyone since 1934. But our work is only possible thanks to our members. You can help our mission and support us during the pandemic and beyond by becoming a Liberty member for as little as £1 per month.

Stay safe and stay well.

Best wishes,
