With a bold blend of conservative priorities and savvy business-minded efficiencies, Donald Trump’s new team is designed to challenge Washington’s status quo and accelerate reforms. Headlined by Vice President J.D. Vance, the administration includes both established Republican figures and fresh conservative voices. Appointments like Marco Rubio as Secretary of State and Matt Gaetz as Attorney General underscore a commitment to rethinking foreign policy and federal law enforcement, reinforcing Trump’s pledge to disrupt the D.C. establishment. In national security, Pete Hegseth as Defense Secretary, with Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence and Mike Waltz as National Security Advisor, signals a more assertive stance on global threats. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Border Czar Tom Homan are expected to reinforce strict immigration policies, advancing Trump’s “America First” vision. Environmental policy is poised to undergo substantial changes. Lee Zeldin’s anticipated role at the EPA suggests a shift toward business-friendly regulations, which could reduce oversight in favor of economic growth. Robert Kennedy, Jr. has been tapped to lead Health and Human Services. With a lifetime of focus on human health and a pledge to Make America Healthy Again, big changes are coming for those in the food supply chain. The Department of the Interior will be led by Doug Burgum, the Governor of North Dakota, who is poised to bring a much-needed refocusing on America’s natural resources and assets. Often referred to as “The Department of Everything Else,” Interior has control over vast amounts of the land in the U.S. through the Bureau of Land Management. It is responsible for managing oil leases, including those in the vital Alaska North Slope and offshore drilling sites, as well as overseeing cultural heritage, collecting data about our resources, and upholding special commitments to American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, and affiliated Island Communities, among many other critical duties that deserve recognition. Governor Burgum is well-equipped to excel in the role of Secretary of the Interior, a position that demands multifaceted leadership and the ability to prioritize effectively across a diverse set of responsibilities. His business acumen will be instrumental in navigating the complexities of this department and driving it toward huge success. President Trump’s focus on government efficiency is further reflected in his choice of key advisors like Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, who are positioned to drive cost-cutting measures and reduce what Trump calls “bureaucratic bloat.” And as the song goes, the first cut is the deepest. With allies like Stephen Miller and Susie Wiles in influential positions, Trump is assembling a team ready to advance his vision of a streamlined, conservative government. As this administration begins to take form, it’s clear that Trump’s legacy will be one of disruption, reshaping federal power and challenging long-standing norms. “America First” is now well positioned and readily poised to be far more than a slogan—it’s become the clarion call and the very blueprint strategically aimed at placing America’s national interests above all else. Move Johnson County Hard Right ~ by Maria Holiday Chairwoman Johnson County Republican Party It’s been almost two weeks since the election and I’m still smiling! Johnson County has long been the “problem child” but Republicans are roaring back! Even the liberal Kansas City Star was forced to admit it with a headline reading “Republicans halt Johnson County’s blue shift…” Governor Kelly targeted Johnson County in a failed attempt to break our super majority. Not only did she fail but Republicans kept every seat and gained three more, two in the House and one in the Senate. For two years I’ve been working on stopping the purple creep. On Tuesday, that job, in it’s official capacity, will belong to a new Chairman. It has been my great honor to serve Johnson County and see the vision cast in December of 2022 come to fruition. Thank you to the multitude of volunteers, including many from outside of Johnson County, who helped us Get Out The Vote. Our volunteers knocked 35.6k doors, called 28.9k voters, sent 38.9k texts and mailed 60K voter guides since the primary! Our messaging team posted on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter daily. Our office was transformed into a space that could host not only our local clubs, but the Kansas Republican Men’s Leadership Series, special speakers like Trevor Loudan, our mid-term election night party, a 95th birthday party and the Republican bus tour stop! This has turned our office into a central hub that is open 5 days a week generating income and welcoming Republicans. I hope you’ll stop by. Finally, my work is not finished. City and county races here are “non-partisan”. That rule is how Democrats got their foot in the door and how they are pushing Republicans out at the local level. There is an economic price to the entire state as a result. When we restore transparency and allow/force candidates to tell us who they are and what platform they align with we will regain control of our County Commission Board and our City Councils. Thank you to all of the candidates that stepped up to try to flip a seat but fell short. You helped others win by reducing war chests and thinning out the manpower on the other side. Please, take what you learned and try again or help someone else. I am looking forward to helping the next leadership team crush our fundraising records! The ceremony will be broadcast and livestreamed on numerous media outlets worldwide. Pass In Review: A long-standing inaugural tradition, the Pass In Review allows our military to recognize their new commander-in-chief. Presidential Escort (after 3 pm ET): The newly sworn-in president will be escorted from 15th Street to the White House on park land. Every branch of the U.S. military will be respresented in the escort, which will include performances by military bands. Weather: January weather in Washington, DC is similar to winter weather of Kansas. It may be nice or it may be snowy and/or frigid. Make America Great Again!     Kansas State Board of Education is Now Republican Controlled by Linda Highland Our five Platform Republican candidates for the Kansas State Board of Education were under attack in their campaigns that encompass four senate districts. Connie O’Brien, District 4, and Debby Potter, District 10, won their races and now Republicans control the board for the first time since the 90s! In January, six Republicans will be the majority of the ten-member board. A big thank you to all these candidates who ran for the KSBE. Our children's wellbeing and the quality of their education in Kansas is suffering because of the failings of the socialist Democrat controlled boards of the past years. Over half of our state revenue flows into public education. This year 2.6 billion in unencumbered funds sits in all our districts. In 2013, those funds were 1.7 billion. So, these reserve funds are growing while our districts keep taxing us at ever higher rates and student learning is suffering. It is time to also pay attention to our local school districts. President elect Trump vows to end the US Dept. of Education and send education control back to the states. In Trump fashion, our Republican controlled board could accomplish some major changes. You recall our party passed a resolution calling for ending social emotional learning, put into place by the 2012 board. This new board could change accreditation to no longer require SEL as the number one thing local districts must do to meet accreditation.
