The Week in Review
Happy Friday!
I hope you had a wonderful week. I am grateful to serve you all in the 118th Congress. Read below to see what I’ve been working on this week.
Tele-Town Hall Next Thursday, November 21st
I am hosting my virtual tele-town hall next Thursday, November 21, at 7:30 pm EST/5:30 pm MST. I will provide district updates and discuss what I’ve been working on in Washington. Please join the town hall and ask me questions!
Celebrating Veterans
On Monday, our nation observed Veterans Day. We honor all who have selflessly served our country in our armed forces.
Freedom is not free, and we owe a great debt to those who have answered the call.
To our veterans: Thank you. Your sacrifices will never be forgotten.
For Veterans: Prepare for VA’s Secure Sign-In Changes
Starting in 2025, you’ll need to use a Login.gov or ID.me account to sign in to manage your VA health and benefits online. After January 31, 2025, the VA will remove the option to sign in with a My HealtheVet user ID and password. You’ll still be able to use your My HealtheVet health portal—you’ll just need to sign in using a Login.gov or ID.me account. Create your account and log in using it today so you’re all set before January 31.
House Oversight & Accountability Committee Activity
The Subcommittees on Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Government Innovation and National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs held a joint hearing titled “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP): Exposing the Truth.” My colleagues and I discussed the Department of Defense (DOD) and the intelligence community’s lack of transparency regarding UAP.
The DOD has failed to provide transparency on the existence and effectiveness of programs related to UAP not only to Congress, but to the American people.Witnesses testified that DOD has a habit of overclassifying information related to UAP, smearing whistleblowers, and has even structured some UAP programs to avoid Congressional notification entirely. Celebrating the U.S. Marine Corps’ 249th Birthday
