Republicans Projected To Win House, Earning GOP A Trifecta Of Power

With Trump returning to the White House in January, Republicans are also projected to maintain control of the House of Representatives, essentially giving the GOP complete control of Washington, D.C.

On Monday, Decision Desk HQ had already predicted that the House would secure the 218th seat, which is required for a majority in the lower house.

The outcome is also a significant victory for Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), who rose from the shadows to become the leader of the House GOP in both legislation and campaign infrastructure.

Republicans defeated a number of Democrat incumbents while preserving some of its most vulnerable incumbents, such as Reps. David Valadao (R-Calif.) and Don Bacon (R-Neb.). Businessman Rob Bresnahan beat Rep. Matt Cartwright (D-Pa.), while state representative Ryan Mackenzie (R-Pa.) ousted Rep. Susan Wild (D-Pa.).

However, some GOP losses were offset by those outcomes. Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer (R-Ore.) and three first-term New York Republicans, Reps. Anthony D’Esposito, Marc Molinaro, and Brandon Williams, lost their reelection campaigns.

With a percentage of ballots still being counted for a number of California races, the ultimate House breakdown is still up in the air. Nevertheless, it is highly anticipated that Republicans will enter the next Congress with yet another majority.

The Pennsylvania Department of Education agreed to rescind its ‘Culturally-Relevant and Sustaining Education Program Framework Guidelines’ as part of a settlement secured by Thomas More Society in a lawsuit filed on behalf of Pennsylvania school districts, families, and educators.

PITTSBURGH (Thomas More Society) — As part of a November 13, 2024, settlement agreement secured by Thomas More Society attorneys in a lawsuit filed on behalf of Pennsylvania school districts, educators, and families, against the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the state’s education department has agreed to rescind its “Culturally-Relevant and Sustaining Education Program Framework Guidelines,” or CR-SE.

Under the terms of the agreement, all public schools, school districts, charter schools, and other school entities across the state will no longer be required to implement or comply with the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s previously issued CR-SE guidelines.

First issued in November 2022, Pennsylvania’s CR-SE guidelines sought to mandate that educators affirm and impose on their students highly ideological beliefs about contentious social and political issues. This required educators throughout Pennsylvania to make acknowledgments of “biases [that] exist in the education system,” “microagressions,” and “unconscious biases,” among other ideologically tinted points.

Trump Announces Musk, Ramaswamy To Lead Dept Of Govt Efficiency (DOGE)

45th and 47th U.S. President Donald J. Trump has announced that Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will lead the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

On Tuesday, Trump made the announcement in an official statement.

The president-elect explained that the two will “work together to liberate our Economy, and make the U.S. Government accountable to ‘WE THE PEOPLE.’”

Vivek and Musk have been strong supporters of Trump throughout his campaign.

Musk continuously worked to combat disinformation perpetrated by the Kamala Harris campaign on his social media platform, X.
