Friend,
I know the past 10 days have been difficult for many of us. The results of the election were not what we wanted or expected, but that doesn’t mean we can sit back for four years waiting for change.
This is the time to organize. The next four years may look bleak, but we have the opportunity to bring even more people together. Let’s let our anger and sadness out by building even bigger coalitions, talking to our friends and family, giving back to our communities, and more. Look into mutual aid organizations that help vulnerable people directly. Volunteer in your neighborhood. Empower communities. And work to uplift groups that will be most impacted by the GOP’s reign.
We may have been knocked down, but that does not mean we have given up the fight. This winter, we will do our duty and transfer power peacefully. And then for the next four years, we will work, every day, to make sure that the Trump administration does not make good on their worst potential.
While we recover from Election Day and gear up to spend time with friends and family for the holidays, keep your hope. I am so proud of all of the work you put in this year, and while things did not go our way, you all still took historical steps towards progress and change.
