Only watching the Weather Channel from now on!
It must be so peaceful to not pay attention to the news. Imagine a life where you don’t have to learn about Mark Robinson’s internet browsing history ([link removed]) or why Joe Biden wants to smack Trump “in the ass ([link removed]) .” Or even of the existence of Matt Gaetz, yuck.
After this last week, we truly all need a break from headlines so horrific they make us feel like we’re living in an Ari Aster movie. But unfortunately, the voters who pay the least attention to the news were the ones who elected Trump, according to our new polling ([link removed]) .
Last month, we asked respondents how much they follow national politics across TV, radio, newspapers, and the internet, with responses from “a great deal” to “none at all.” Harris won with voters who pay serious attention to political news, while Trump solidified much of his support from voters who don’t.

Why does this matter? It helps explain some of the differences between Democratic success in 2022 (when the electorate is more highly engaged) and 2024 (when less-engaged voters turn out).
We find that the least engaged voters are spending their time on social media platforms like YouTube and Facebook, not watching cable news or reading The New York Times.
If you’re not familiar with the names Theo Von, Brittany Broski, Kai Cenat, or Pokimane, congrats on touching grass. But if Democrats want to win in 2028, we need to invest where people are — because no one is watching you on MSNBC at 9am on a Sunday. Sorry!

Nothing but disrespect for Seth Moulton and Tom Suozzi
As we grapple with the results of the 2024 election, many people — including some wannabe-prominent Democrat men — have been quick to throw transgender people under the bus, despite little to no evidence showing trans issues drove the vote.
Our polling fielded before the election found ([link removed]) that voters think the Republican Party has the more extreme stance on trans issues. And that voters prefer a candidate who stays out of people’s private lives over one who wants to restrict access to trans health care.

Voters also agree that the transgender community deserves to be treated with dignity and respect and that there is too much legislation targeting transgender people.
Did y’all never see the movie Rocky? Or Rocky II? Or Creed? Because we all know that you only lose when you stop fighting. Democrats already have a winning message on these issues — stay out of our private lives! The second Trump admin is going to come down hard on our trans friends, and Democrats need to grow a spine, do the right thing, and fight back.

If Elon Musk has a million haters, I am one of them.
Don’t know about y’all, but we’re sick being unable to open our Twitter/X feed without seeing racist garbage that we think is a random troll but then actually turns out to be a Republican senator.
