Fellow Advocate,
I don’t think we’ve had the pleasure, so I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Allison Anderman, and I’m CeaseFirePA’s new(ish) Director of Law and Policy. I began in August and have been working to implement a cohesive legislative strategy to secure key gun violence prevention victories.
I have spent the past eleven years working in the gun safety movement nationwide. Most recently, I served as Senior Counsel and Director of Local Policy at GIFFORDS Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence. One of my goals is to bring a fresh and national perspective to the critical work we’re doing here to end gun violence in Pennsylvania.
As an expert in law and policy, I cannot overstate the power of grassroots activists coming together to ignite legislative change. Yesterday, Adam asked you to send a message to your lawmakers asking them to make gun violence prevention a priority in the new legislative session that starts in January. Today, I’m reiterating his call: Will you reach out to your State Representative and Senator Nikil Saval urging them to declare their support for a gun safety agenda before the session starts?

As you know, we held our narrow gun safety majority in the House and those legislators will get to set the next term’s agenda. While Adam and I work behind the scenes with legislators to polish and prioritize our key legislation, we need you to get legislators on the record promising to prioritize our cause.
We all must do our part to ensure life-saving legislation is prioritized, and passed next session. So I must ask you again: Will you step into your power by calling on your State Representative and Senator Saval to set gun safety on the mantle before the term is gaveled in?
