Donald Trump announced RFK Jr. as his pick to lead the Department of Health and Human Services.

Yes, RFK Jr., the tinfoil hat conspiracy theorist who believes in debunked claims that vaccines cause autism, thinks fluoride in water causes people to turn Trans and Gay and has taken aim at the FDA, CDC, and National Institutes of Health.

If confirmed, he will be in charge of agencies that regulate food and medicine, decide whether Medicare and Medicaid will pay for drugs and hospital treatments, guard against infectious diseases, and conduct billions of dollars of medical research into cancer and Alzheimer’s.

Our country just went through the single largest loss of life event a couple of years ago — and now Donald Trump wants to put a vaccine skeptic in charge of our health system?

This pick is irresponsible, shameful, and disgusting and is something we must furiously oppose.
