We're also pleased to share that the Infrastructure Rebuilding and Resilience Commission released its interim report at a press conference in Hallowell on Tuesday, (above). Governor Janet Mills established the 24-member Commission by Executive Order in May 2024, in the wake of several devastating storms.
After the event at Hallowell City Hall, the Commission's co-chairs toured a downtown building that suffered extreme flooding in the December 2023 storm, with owner Rich Friscia (below). The commercial and residential property is undergoing repairs funded by a Department of Economic and Community Development Business Recovery and Resilience Fund award.

The Commission's interim recommendations are available online here. The Commission will now build on the interim report to deliver the state's first long-term infrastructure resilience plan in May 2025.
