As you know, John, I started out as a prosecutor.

Throughout my career I have seen people at some of the worst times in their lives. People who had suffered great harm and great pain and yet found within themselves the strength to fight for justice, for themselves, and for others. Their courage served as an inspiration to me and I hope it will serve as an inspiration to you.

You see: The light of America's promise will burn bright as long as long as we keep fighting. This fight for freedom, for opportunity, for fairness, and the dignity of all people is not one I intend to give up. I am asking you not to either.
